Danske Bank and Young Enterprise extend partnership into 2025

Danske Bank has extended its commitment to working with Young Enterprise NI through its Business Beginnings Programme and Sustainability Challenge
Young Enterprise is proud to announce Danske Bank’s continued support for its Business Beginnings programme, which empowers Primary 7 pupils across Northern Ireland with essential entrepreneurial skills. This initiative not only fosters creativity and innovation among young learners but also equips them with the foundational principles of business and financial literacy.
The Business Beginnings programme teaches pupils how to develop, market, and manage their own business ideas, encouraging teamwork and problem-solving abilities. By engaging with real-world business concepts, these students are prepared to become the next generation of entrepreneurs, driving economic growth and innovation in their communities.
In addition to support of the Business Beginnings programme, the bank has expanded its engagement with Young Enterprise through the Danske Bank Sustainability Challenge. This initiative seeks to educate pupils about the significance of sustainability in business practices and everyday life. The challenge encourages young minds to explore sustainable solutions to current environmental issues, fostering a sense of responsibility and inspiring them to make a positive impact on the world.
Carol Fitzsimons, Chief Executive of Young Enterprise NI, stated: “We are convinced that developing the skills, talents, and self-assurance of today’s youth is essential for a thriving economy in the future. Danske Bank’s continued backing of the Business Beginnings programme plays a key role in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset in the youngest members of our community.”
Nicola McCleery, Head of Digital Commercial Performance at Danske Bank added: “Collaborating with a dedicated partner, like Young Enterprise, that supports our next generation of entrepreneurs aligns perfectly with our values as a business helping local people thrive. The addition of the Sustainability Challenge fosters an interest and responsibility in young people to develop sustainable business practices from an early age. This is the third year of our partnership, which also enables our colleagues to volunteer, sharing their skills and making a positive impact in local primary schools right across Northern Ireland.”
