High flying young leaders represent NI

Two of Northern Ireland’s most promising young entrepreneurs are set to represent Northern Ireland at a global young leader’s conference in Canada on August 10th.

Seventeen year old sixth form students Emilie Vose, from Bangor and Charlotte Campbell from Coleraine were selected by entrepreneurship charity Young Enterprise to attend the Next Generation Leaders Forum (NGL) having started their own businesses with their support over the last 10 months. The trip has been made possible with the support of Selective Travel, part of The World Travel Centre Group and Bank of IrelandUK.

They were selected from a pool of over 1,400 young people who took part this year in the Young Enterprise Company Programme in Northern Ireland following an interview process with some of Northern Ireland’s industry leaders.

The annual event, held at Trent University in Ontario, connects top young leaders from around the world, who have taken part in Junior Achievement-Young Enterprise business start-up programmes with established business leaders to tackle real business challenges faced by global organisations.

Young Enterprise Chief Executive Carol Fitzsimons commented “The NGL experience will inspire these two promising young women to develop a truly global outlook and bring that vision home to Northern Ireland.”

NI Regional Manager for Bank of Ireland UK, Sean Sheehan said “We recognise that entrepreneurship is key to ensuring a prosperous future in Northern Ireland, so we were delighted to support our young leaders with such a valuable opportunity.  We wish Emilie and Charlotte all the best for their week in Canada!”

World Travel Centre M.D. Mukesh Sharma said : “We are committed to supporting the next generation of business people and entrepreneurs. Young Enterprise continues to ensure quality development and capacity in our youth and we are happy to be supporting their initiatives.  Good luck to Emilie and Charlotte in Canada.”
