Moy Park Enterprise Challenge comes to Dungannon and Craigavon

Northern Ireland’s leading business education charity, Young Enterprise NI, have teamed up with Moy Park to inspire Primary school students from across the Dungannon and Craigavon areas to get involved in business and enterprise.

The Moy Park Challenge sees Young Enterprise deliver an entrepreneurship masterclass to the students, who participated in an interactive, business-related competition designed to inspire their creativity and entrepreneurial skills. As part of the Challenge, young people formulated business plans, and tested their marketing skills by producing a poster for Moy Park products.

The Young Enterprise Moy Park Challenge is in its sixth successful year, with students attending the Dungannon Masterclass from Our Lady’s Tullysaran Primary School, Windmill Integrated Primary School, St Joseph’s Primary School Madden, and Newmills Primary School. Students from Ballyoran Primary School, St Anthony’s Primary School, Edenderry Primary School and Portadown Integrated Primary School took part in the Craigavon Masterclass.

During the events the students presented their marketing campaign, took part in interactive business challenges and learned more about the food production industry. Business volunteers from Moy Park delivered presentations on healthy eating and the ‘Chicken Voyage’, tracing the production chain from farmer to consumer. The day concluded with a competition, with prizes awarded by Brian Moreland from Moy Park.

Brian Moreland, Corporate Responsibility Manager at Moy Park, commented on the partnership with Young Enterprise, “The whole team is delighted to be working with Young Enterprise on the Moy Park Challenge.  We are always keen to support our local communities, and this event is a great opportunity to engage with young people to show them how business works and the vast range of interesting and rewarding careers available.”

Carol Fitzsimons, Chief Executive at Young Enterprise Northern Ireland, commented “We are delighted once again to partner with Moy Park in delivering this programme.  It is fantastic to see such a successful local business encouraging innovation and would hope that the competition will inspire the next generation of young entrepreneurs, and help them consider self-employment as a viable career option.”
