What is a Business Backer?
Young Enterprise has launched the campaign, calling on businesses across NI to support the work of the enterprise education charity, by becoming a Business Backer through an annual donation of £400.
YE Business Backers are individuals & businesses who believe in our mission to develop the entrepreneurial skills of young people. Young people are our future workforce and the business start ups of tomorrow. Business Backers invest in young people to build a prosperous future for Northern Ireland.

The NI economy has a skills crisis. We need skilled young people as our future workforce, to grow the NI economy.
Last year during the pandemic Young Enterprise NI built an online Learning Management System, YE Academy, which meant that almost 50,000 young people were able to get involved in skills development, despite lockdown and restricted access to schools. As we move past Covid, the charity wants to ensure that these young people haven’t lost the chance to develop the employability skills that businesses need them to have. YE alumni are better prepared for life beyond education & have the skills employers need.
“Many business people in NI have been involved with YENI and know our work allows young people to develop key employability skills. They get to interact with mentors from the local business community and are better prepared for life beyond school. As we start the new term, we want to continue this digital resource, as well as our usual in-school delivery.
To achieve this, we are asking local business to invest in these young people who have shown resilience over the last few years and will be their future workforce. Each new Business Backer allows one more class to get involved in Young Enterprise and allows the charity to grow our impact”
