YENI Continues Online
Free Home Learning Resources
Given the current Covid-19 situation and the extremely difficult situation for schools I wanted to get in touch and offer Young Enterprise’s support. Alongside our Young Enterprise partners across the UK we have resources and activities which may be appropriate for your students to access digitally in the event of school closures and home learning.
All of the below are free to use and would be easily accessible for students in their own home.
(KS3/KS4, Cross curricular) – We have adapted part of this popular national competition so that it can be completed by students independently at home. ‘Tenner from Home’ supports students to set up a project to research and plan a business opportunity that could be started with just £10. Note – teachers need to register themselves and students on the site. Available here
(KS3/KS4, Cross curricular) – My Money Week has run in England every year for the last 11 years. We have made all of the materials that have been developed over the last six years. Available here
(KS4/KS5, Business and Economics) – We have teamed up with Telos Partners to offer a written entry competition based around ‘leadership’. Entries can be up to 2,000 words and the deadline for entry is 18th May 2020. Available here
The free PDF version of the textbook contains a wealth of information, activities and top tips in relation to money and personal finance. Students could be directed to work through certain topics or chapters. In addition to the above we will also operate support services and digital learning opportunities that teachers, parents and students can avail of free of charge – look out for these online. Available here
We hope that in some small way these can help you and your staff in setting a diverse range of home learning options should schools close for extended periods. We wish you all the very best and look forward to working with you in the future, and if there is anything further we can do to support you please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Carol Fitzsimons MBE, CEO Young Enterprise NI
