Young Entrepreneurs Lead the Way in Business

Young Entrepreneurs from schools across Craigavon, Banbridge, Armagh, Newry and Dungannon have received awards for their creative endeavours at the recent trade fair at Rushmere Shopping Centre.

Young Enterprise Company, St Patricks College Dungannon, came out on top as best overall company –  ‘Urjing Innovation; with an app they specifically developed to meet the needs of both children and adults living with additional individual needs.  Other winners included. Lismore Comprehensive Craigavon, Sperrinview school Dungannon, Newtownhamilton High School, Ceara school Lurgan and Newbridge Integrated School Banbridge.

The students from across the area not only had to impress customers with their business ideas, products and services they also had to convince a group of Judges from across the business community that they had what it took to win.

Presenting the awards at Rushmere Shopping Centre, Chief Executive of the Young Enterprise Charity, Carol Fitzsimons MBE said: We would like to thank everyone who came along to support our young people at our trade fair at Rushmere shopping Centre, all the judges who took the time out of their busy schedules and our event sponsors and supporters. Our aim is to empower young people with the skills and confidence to succeed in life and work and it is brilliant to see so many extremely talented young people promoting creative and innovative business ideas. The competition this year was extremely high. Congratulations to all our winners.
